Keeping an Attitude of Gratitude by
Keeping a Gratitude Journal
Do you maintain an attitude of gratitude? Have you ever kept a gratitude journal? It’s the kind of thing I’ve done in the past and find myself saying to myself, “Great idea but I’ve done it already.” It’s so interesting that I’d think it was a great idea and then not follow through.
Is that because I think I know it all?
Or is it because it’s not new and exciting – just a plain old good idea?
Or could be that ‘”Your mother probably told you at one time or another, ‘You should feel grateful or what you have. The children in ____________ are starving.’ This is likely what helped give gratitude such a bad name.”
Let me remind myself (and you) why it’s a good idea to have a daily gratitude practice:
- 1. Expressing gratitude actually changes the way we feel. It’s been proven to have healthful benefits to our bodies. It's about an attitude of gratitude.
- 2. Because expressing gratitude changes the way we feel, it changes our vibration. Anything that improves our vibration makes our magnetic self more able to attract the life we want. (Law of Attraction)
- 3. When our mood shifts, our perception widens and we are able to see our lives in broader, more open way.
I don’t know about you but I’m going to get off my butt right now and start another gratitude journal in order to maintain my attitude of gratitude.
Here’s what I’m grateful for today:
- 1. My daughter is willing to support me on sticking to my health program.
- 2. My other daughter is willing to loan me her new car so I can make a 3 hour trip for some health stuff and feel happy driving on the freeway.
- 3. I have found a great chiropractor doing some amazing work called BioCranial Therapy. My posture is better than it's ever been.
- 4. I live in Santa Monica where it is cool most of the time.
- 5. Santa Monica is filled with green and lots of flowers.
